Nike Zoom Air/Air Zoom is lightweight and durable. Its cushioning is incredibly thin, which brings the foot closer to the ground and enhances stability, especially important during quick cuts and multi-directional movements in games such as basketball.
The Air Zoom unit is composed of two fabric layers connected by thousands of vertical fibres, each attached at both ends to a fabric layer. These fibres are then surrounded with pressurized gas inside a Nike Air unit. While the pressurized air exerts and outward force, like a full balloon, the fibres are placed in tension and exert an opposing inward force to keep the air bag from popping or bulging. On impact, the air bag compresses to relieve the tension on the fibres. After impact, the pressurized gas expands the air bag and places tension on those fibres. The fibres compress on impact and then spring back into shape immediately.
Air Zoom's main advantage is that it's incredibly thin and light, but provides excellent impact cushioning while allowing the wearer to feel the surface he or she is on.
Nike's Cushlon midsole cushioning system is comprised of a foam outsole, which is similar to the Phylon midsole, but has a higher proportion of rubber and is simultaneously softer and more durable.
Nike Flywire technology consists of strategically placed filaments that function like cables on a suspension bridge to offer support precisely where it’s needed. These strong Flywire filaments are applied to a minimalistic shoe upper, reducing weight to create Nike’s lightest footwear. Paper-thin fabric covers the top of the foot, with Nike Flywire filaments attaching to the outsole and holding the foot in place.

When buying running shoes, choosing the right size is essential. If you click on the size, top line will show you the size in other measurements. Different brands can use different sizing. Unfortunately, there is no unified size chart. In our experience it is best to look at the measurements in centimetres – this measurement states RECCOMMENDED FOOT LENGTH for Nike shoes for given size. However this measurement can differ item to item.
If your foot measures 25, 5 cm, we recommend size EU 40, because the manufacturer already ensures wiggle room for your toes.
