Choosing Ice Skates

If you can’t wrap your head around all those types of ice skates available on the market, you are in the right place. We will try to make the selection as easy as possible for you.

Size is a very important aspect when selecting ice skates. We recommend the adult users to purchase ice skates with insole long as your feet in socks. If you choose smaller size, your feet will hurt shortly after stepping on the ice. In case of larger skates, your foot will move inside it and you will not gain needed stability.

When choosing ice skates for still growing children, we recommend to go for max. 1 cm larger. We do understand, that the child’s foot grows, but skating might be more difficult for children who wear skates that are too large and might trip over them.

Sometimes the skates can be sold with EE or D sizing, which denotes with – EE ice skates are wider than standard D.

It is also recommended to purchase high-quality socks for even more comfort during skating and minimizing the risk of blisters. Ideally, hockey socks should come without seams close by the toes.
